So okay, yeah, Bad Idea. Test messages are supposed to be posted to misc.test or alt.test or something. Fine. Nobody's perfect. And Dave is a well-known anti-spammer and competent network Admin.

Wherein Jamie Larts Dave

I'm providing a link to Google's newsgroup archives 'cause I know damn well that if I reprint Jamie's post here, he'll whine about his silly k00kyright notice. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Read it here: Jamie Larts Dave

Jamie can lart Google now :). Anyway, back to the story...

Okay, larting Dave this way was kinda silly, IMO, all things considered. But he was correct. Would that he had left it at that.

Yup. Not that he didn't have a point - I should have test-posted
elsewhere. But asking for my connectivity, DNS, and website to be
whacked would seem to be the response of a k00k.

Is there a FAQ on Jamie anywhere? If not, it may be time for one...

I just posted a message to this board a few seconds ago and I can't
see it! Plus I searched Google for it and it doesn't show up!!!

So I thought I'd better post a test message to see if I'm getting
out.

Can you see me?

Thanks,
Jim

Not only was the post itself obviously a troll, and blindingly-so, IMO, but not less than four other newsgroup regulars followed-up to it, giving away the game even had Jamie been so utterly clue-impaired as to have missed it in the first place.

That's okay, tho, no harm was done :). Unbelievable as it may seem, he bit anyway.

This person is going around spamming the usenet
newsgroups with junk that is totally in the wrong
group. This person should have posted
this test message in a newsgroup such as misc.test
or alt.test.

This person continues to spam the newsgroup
with this useless garbage. This is totally unacceptable.

The orginal spam with the full headers is located
bellow.

Please see that action is immediately taken against
this person.

*Sigh*

First of all, Jamie, I'm not "going around spamming Usenet." Nor have I continued "to spam the newsgroup with this useless garbage." At worst I posted one test message to a newsgroup. But the funny thing is: it wasn't even a real test message you dolt! It was a troll. (Go look it up.) And not just any troll, Jamie. Oh no. This was a blindingly obvious troll. My God, man, I even put "From: trolling@LinxNet.com" in it!

Oh yeah, there was this, also...

Which was another obvious troll, posted as a follow-up to the original thread started by Dave's "test" post. You know: the thread wherein everybody else told you you were out-of-line and behaving like a flaming idiot yet again?

Oh by the way: the abuse@ and postmaster@ role-account handler for LinxNet.com was highly amused by your complaint. I'll let you figure out for yourself just why that might be. Should be no problem for you, you being the Überantispammer you are and all.

Sheesh.

18 Feb., 2003

Note: On Jan. 17 Jamie subsequently complained about this web page to LinxNet.com's "Powers That Be" ;), LinxNet.com's upstream and, for reasons known best only to Jamie himself, ATTBI. Amazingly: he included the entire above contents of this web page. I'll post the complaint some day in the future, perhaps.

Dave Lugo pointed out this link to a Googled'd copy of Jamie's complaints to Dave's upstream and DNS peers about Dave's "test" post to NANAE.

Given Jamie's recent activities (see the item under "Other Examples Of Jamie-isms" [below], added Feb. 26, 2003), I feel it only appropriate to go ahead and add a copy of the complaint Jamie registered about this very web page. So I added ...

Following his k00kywrite notice (above), he then pasted into his "complaint" a text rendering of this entire web page as it existed at that time, as well as copies of Usenet posts. (Apparently the irony of that action, given his k00kywrite notice, completely escapes him.)

Jamie, there's been no "harassment" - only the documenting of your antics lest anybody take you seriously. Secondly: I have all the permissions I need to publish what's on this page. There has been no "slander." There have been no "lies." Slander and lies, by definition, require untruths. There are no untruths on this page. It is merely documentation.
